I have eaten here three times now and have been very happy with every meal. I order sushi all the time and enjoy the variety, flavor, and quality of the sushi that they prepare. The service is also prompt and attentive. The restaurant is Asian-stylish and I think is now the best Asian restaurant in Grand Forks.

I walked here from my hotel and honestly I had 3 intentions in mind. An affordable Japanese restaurant, walking distance from the hotel and one that had a yelp offer ( free appetizer). I ventured out on the shopping strip (32nd street) and passed at least one Japanese restaurant. This was much larger and had the free appetizer ordeal. I ordered the Sashimi combo. For North Dakota I was shocked at how fresh the fish tasted. It was quite pleasant to see them use actual leaves as opposed to the typical plastic green fence to separate fish from the vegetables. It is a little pricey, but well worth it.

I went there on my lunch break thinking it was a quick and dirty noodle joint. Not the case, their menu is quite fancy (and quite expensive). Everything on the menus is about $5 more than what I'm used to. They told me they couldn't get me food on my lunch break because a big party with complex orders came in, and as I sadly turned to leave, the sever decided she'd put in a rush order for me so I could get back to work on time. They were fast, the food was delicious, but for the price...portions are too small for my appetite. With tip, tax, and the base price...one smallish noodle plate to-go order cost me $18. Where I'm from, it's generally under $10. They also have a weird post-lunch, pre-dinner time that they're closed.

Really fresh sushi and quite reasonably priced. 8 piece lunch sushi special with Miso Soup is $15 (including tax). They get fresh fish every 3 days. The space itself is large and intimate and hence good for groups or date night. The also have TVs at the 2 bars if you are flying solo.

Good sushi. Our server worked with us to accommodate our dietary restrictions: no soy paper and no wheat. She said that they had gluten free soy sauce. We brought our own.

So I guess I'm a stick in the mud. I spoke to a few employees and they are Chinese. There was a birthday celebration and the people were American and they put a Chinese dragon head over him.. just saying. I spoke to them in Japanese and they didn't know what I was saying. .

Sakura just opened today! It was not so busy compare to the Texas Roadhouse next to it. I doubt because of its first day opening. Atmosphere was unbelievable, I would rate it the best in town. you can tell when you walk in, a big Buddha sit right front of you. However, our Hibachi Chef is not the funniest one compare to next table, but he was doing good on cooking side, hey!food tastes good. I'm pretty excited about this place, definitely a good place to try.

We had a great lunch! Bento boxes were tasty and a perfect amount of food for lunch! Staff was so friendly!!! My only complaint was the music...

I really enjoyed this place. I thought the decor was pretty interesting (except for the giant TVs behind the sushi bar, they just seemed out of place) and the food wasn't bad either. Ordered two sushi rolls and my other dinner companions ordered tempura and gyoza. All dishes were made well and were pretty tasty. We didn't try the hibachi portion of the menu, but it looked like the people sitting around the big griddles were enjoying their meals. Overall, a fun place to visit.

A gem in Grand Forks! Wow...I ate too much tonight -- domo arigato ! I had the teriyaki chicken bento box AND a sashimi plate - and that was a lot (a Kirin beer too). They also brought me some AWESOME miso soup and a salad. Service was friendly, efficient, and spot on. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. They allow both student and military discounts. They also have delicious food--- did I mention the delicious food? Go there, have fun, eat hearty --- I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so!

Awesome! Great food. Clean. Fast super tasty! ! Fun atmosphere. Steak chicken and shrimp are so juicy along with the yum yum sauce. The fried rice is to die for and the mixed drinks are super tasty. I would go there again and again! Lots of extras to take home for the next day.

I came here with my girlfriend for a sushi dinner date. When you first enter the restaurant you're greeted by a lively hostess who is actually speaking to the people behind you. You'll quickly notice the giant Buddha waterfall statue, which is pretty authentic if you ask me. The hostess finally seats you and you'll be greeted by a minimum of 6 different waiters, all trying to take your order. When you've finally decided, an entirely different waiter will bring you your food. Nonetheless, the sushi is basically mouthsex, or in simple terms, a mouthgasm. The product is always incredibly fresh and aesthetics are on point. We got water with our orders, however, this restaurant has me convinced that they hire 1 person specifically to walk around with a water pitcher and insist on filling your cup even if you've only taken 2 sips. This restaurant is absolutely 5 star worthy and I'd recommend it to all of my friends. In short, Sakura is bomb as fuck and everyone should try it.
